"Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year for Broken Arrow Public Schools.   It is indeed a special year for our school district. It is a year that will culminate with the 100th graduating class in the history of Broken Arrow High School.  It’s a year that will begin our new program called the Professional Development of Students. In between the first day of school and our Commencement Evening for the Class of 2008 will no doubt be several incredible achievements by our students and staff as last year’s national championships earned by the Pride and our Varsity Cheerleaders will attest. We are an excellent school district, and folks outside of Broken Arrow have noticed.  We have again been selected as the winner of the “What Parents Want Award.”  Only 16 percent of the nation’s over 15,500 school districts were so honored in 2007. Urban Meyer, Head Football Coach of the Defending National Champion University of Florida Gators said prior to the BCS National Championship game won by Florida over Ohio State, “I have yet to be in a game where luck was involved.  Well-prepared players make plays.  I have yet to be in a game where the most prepared team didn’t win.”  Coach Meyer’s sentiments are true in most walks of life including education.  I can assure you that our staff is well-prepared for an exceptional year for Broken Arrow Public Schools. Many of our teachers and administrators have participated in staff development activities throughout the summer to add to their excellence so that they provide even more service to our students in the new school year.  Our 12-month employees have worked hard throughout the summer on facilities, grounds, and operational plans to ensure a tremendous year for our students and staff.  Broken Arrow Public Schools is where excellence is a tradition thanks to the support of our community and the great work of our staff.  Our district joins our community in expecting another year of excellence for Broken Arrow Public Schools."

--Dr. Jim Sisney, Superintendent of Schools
