This is just a reminder to help your child remember that all students need to have tennis/athletic shoes for Physical Education and for inside recess. Shoes with embedded wheels in them are not permitted at Leisure Park with or with out the wheels in them. Ballet/slipper style shoes such as the Sketchers with the single strap going across them are not the best or safest choice. Students wearing the skater style shoes such as Vans must wear them with the laces cinched up and tied for Physical Education classes. This is a safety issue. A safe shoe is one that has laces and can be cinched and tied around the ankle in order to prevent a child from turning or twisting an ankle. Please have your child wear or bring athletic/tennis shoes on days they have Physical Education. You may refer to the student hand book page 38 for shoe requirements. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call us at 259-4420 ext. 2161. We thank you for your help and support concerning this matter.

Facts Master is a math program designed to encourage fourth and fifth grade students to memorize their addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. Third grade students enter the program second semester. Those who can complete the 300 problems in ten minutes become a Facts Master. Students shorten their times to eight, six, five, four and last year one student even accomplished a three minute achievement. Badges are given for each achievement and students’ names are announced on Monday morning and posted in the main hallway. A Facts Master party is held at the end of each school year.
