Student Activities

Westwood Elementary is very fortunate to have such dedicated and talented teachers! Several of our teachers will be offering fourth and fifth grade students the opportunity to participate in special organizations. Each club offered is listed below with a brief description of its purpose. Please take a few minutes to read them with your child and help determine which, if any, would be of interest to them. To help our students develop a sense of community, we encourage each of them to be involved in the many exciting activities Westwood has to offer.

Art Xtreme Team (AXT)

Chess Club

Jump Rope Club

Morning Broadcast Crew

Safety Patrol

Sundown Singers

Wrangler Ringers

Membership in these clubs provides a wonderful opportunity for our students to enrich their school experience. All clubs encourage high standards of behavior and academic performance. If a student’s grades fall below 70% in any subject, including AR, or if the AR goal is not met, the student will be put on academic watch and the parent will be notified.
Again, let me take this opportunity to encourage your student to join one of these exciting clubs. If you have any questions or need clarification, please feel free to contact the sponsoring teacher at 259-4500.
